A fantastic example of the ever popular Fender Telecaster. S8 serial number Telecasters are notoriously difficult to date precisely (watch out for certain dealers claiming S8 guitars are all from 1978!). This particular guitar appears to be from 1981, judging by the pot codes. These really are end of an era Teles, being the last 'original' spec guitars before the reissues started in the early 80's. Not too many rosewood board Teles around from this period, and a very nice piece of dark rosewood it is too! Totally original and in excellent condition for the age, minor fret wear and some minor marks to the body, but absolutely nothing which detracts from the playability of the instrument. Supplied in a 90's era Fender red label case, sought after in its own right.
